Japanese MMA: Kudo

Kudo is a martial arts made by Azuma Takashi in 1981. Azuma was a black belt in Kyokushin Karate and Judo, saw the potential for a high breed martial arts which was not restricted by styles. He chose to blend the two martial arts he knew, and made Daido Juku, where striking and hooking was permitted. Gradually, different other combative techniques like Muay Thai, Boxing, Jiu-Jitsu and different other martial arts were joined, and adjusted to function admirably in the style. The martial arts was renamed as Kudo in 2001, and is acknowledged as a Budo sport in Japan.
